Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Wincanton from September. This full-time, long-term position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a welcoming Humanities department, with the potential for a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

We are looking for a teacher who can inspire students to explore the world around them, develop geographical understanding, and build confidence through engaging, well-planned lessons. The Role

As the successful Geography Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 teaching experience is desirable but not essential).

• Prepare and deliver creative lessons that challenge and motivate students of all abilities.

• Track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.

• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to succeed.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department and contribute to the wider life of the school.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance and academic achievement.

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching Geography within a UK secondary school.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• A genuine enthusiasm for Geography and high-quality teaching.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
