Long-Term Supply, MPS/UPS £32,916 – £51,048, ASAP Start

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Geography Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Sunderland, with an immediate start available. The department is looking for a specialist who can deliver confident, well-structured Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4 and slot into an established team without a lengthy settling-in period.

Geography is a subject that lends itself to genuinely engaging teaching — real world issues, current events, and a curriculum that connects directly to the world students are growing up in. The school is looking for a teacher who brings that perspective into the classroom and uses it to get the best out of their students.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Assessing student progress and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management and student engagement
  • Contributing to fieldwork, departmental planning, and whole-school events
  • Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities

To be considered:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • A degree in Geography or a closely related discipline
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and a student-centred approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
