About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Geography to join their team from September 2026 or January 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner to deliver engaging Geography lessons within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment. The successful candidate will help students develop curiosity about the world, strong academic knowledge, and the skills required to succeed.

The Role: Teacher of Geography

As a Geography Teacher, you will deliver high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students to achieve strong outcomes.

You will contribute to curriculum delivery and development, promote high expectations, and play an active role in both academic and pastoral aspects of school life.


What You Will Do

  • Deliver engaging and well‑planned Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress to support achievement
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Use IT effectively to enhance teaching and learning
  • Support curriculum delivery and contribute to departmental development
  • Act as a form tutor, supporting student wellbeing and personal development
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities, including trips and visits
  • Participate in wider school activities and professional development

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Geography or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4
  • Evidence, or clear potential, of securing strong pupil outcomes
  • Ability to use a range of teaching strategies, including IT to enhance learning
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Willingness to contribute to pastoral support and form tutoring

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
