Are you looking for a more flexible way to use your teaching experience while still making a real difference?

We’re currently looking for dedicated and approachable tutors to deliver Functional Skills support in English and Maths to learners in the Broughton (M7) area. These pupils are often out of mainstream education and need a helping hand to build confidence, gain qualifications, and re-engage with learning in a practical, meaningful way.

Tuition usually takes place on a one-to-one basis, either in the pupil’s home or in community venues like libraries.

About the role:

  • Creating engaging lessons that focus on real-world application

  • Helping learners work towards qualifications or build confidence in basic skills

  • Flexible scheduling – sessions run during school hours, weekdays only

Who this is ideal for:

You’ll do well in this role if you:

  • Have experience delivering Functional Skills or basic Maths and English

  • Can plan and adapt learning based on individual needs and levels

  • Are confident working with young people who may have additional needs or barriers

  • Are patient, consistent, and able to build rapport quickly

  • Are familiar with working in a non-traditional or community-based setting

✅ Flexibility to set your own hours and availability
✅ Local tuition opportunities – no long commutes
✅ Support from a friendly and knowledgeable team
✅ Access to online CPD and resources if needed

For many learners, Functional Skills are a second chance — and you could be the person who helps them get there. This is more than a teaching job; it’s an opportunity to build confidence, unlock potential, and make education truly accessible.
