Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable tutors to deliver Functional Skills tuition in English and/or Maths to learners across Nottinghamshire. This role involves supporting students in developing essential literacy and numeracy skills for further education, employment, and everyday life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver personalised Functional Skills sessions in English and/or Maths

  • Support learners working towards Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications

  • Tailor teaching approaches to meet a variety of learning needs and abilities

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance

  • Encourage confidence and motivation in learners who may have previously struggled in formal education settings

Requirements:

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills in English and/or Maths

  • A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 3 Award in Education and Training) is preferred

  • Knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessment requirements

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
