About the School
This specialist school is widely recognised as an outstanding provider of education within the Wantage area for pupils aged 3–19 years. The school supports children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The school is warm, ambitious, and highly resourced, providing a supportive and therapeutic learning environment where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils both in and out of the classroom
- Help deliver engaging and personalised learning activities
- Promote independence, confidence, and social development
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication, sensory, and physical needs

- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
- Previous experience in education, care, support work, or youth work is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
