About the Role

As a recruitment partner for a local Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Billingham, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Food Technology to join a supportive and forward-thinking Design & Technology department. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students to develop practical cooking skills, nutritional understanding, and a lifelong appreciation for healthy living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable)
  • Plan and prepare engaging practical and theory-based lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
  • Maintain a safe, well-organised, and fully equipped kitchen classroom environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular enrichment activities
  • Uphold and promote the ethos and values of the school

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology or a related subject
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A clear commitment to student achievement and wellbeing
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
