Food Technology Teacher

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Trafford to recruit a fully qualified Food Technology Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026, covering one full academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a supportive school environment and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that promote creativity, practical skills, and healthy living.


Location: Trafford, Greater Manchester (or willing to travel)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (1 full academic year)
Salary: Teachers’ Pay Scale (MPS/UPS – paid to scale)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach both practical and theory-based lessons, ensuring high standards of health and safety
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively
  • Create an inclusive, well-managed classroom environment
  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
  • Maintain positive behaviour management and promote a love of learning

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Is fully qualified in Food Technology or a closely related subject
  • Has experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Is based in Trafford or is happy to travel to the area
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
