Flexible Teaching Assistant

Location: Woolton, L25

Start Date: July 2026

Contract: Temporary, Flexible

Pay Rate: £14.25 to £15 per hour (dependant on experience)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Woolton. The school is well regarded for its nurturing ethos, commitment to pupil development, and strong sense of community. The Role:

We are currently seeking a Flexible Teaching Assistant to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in different classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Support pupils with additional needs (SEND experience desirable)
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

  • Bus: Regular routes from Liverpool city centre and surrounding areas
  • Train: Close to Hunts Cross and Liverpool South Parkway stations
  • Driving: On-site and nearby street parking available

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a primary school setting (local experience beneficial)
  • Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
