The Role:

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the school or adapt resources where necessary
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Quickly build rapport with pupils and staff in new settings
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensure pupils remain on task and achieve lesson objectives
  • Provide brief feedback to the class teacher at the end of the day

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Arriving prepared and ready to teach at short notice where required
  • Taking responsibility for the learning and wellbeing of pupils throughout the day
  • Adapting teaching style to suit different classrooms and abilities
  • Supporting teaching assistants and working collaboratively with school staff
  • Upholding safeguarding and school policies at all times
  • Marking work where required and leaving clear handover notes

Benefits of Supply Teaching:

  • Flexibility: Choose when and where you work—ideal for fitting around other commitments
  • Work-Life Balance: No planning or marking in many roles, allowing you to switch off after the school day
  • Variety: Experience a wide range of schools, year groups, and teaching environments
  • Skill Development: Build confidence, adaptability, and classroom management expertise
  • Pathway Opportunities: Potential to secure long-term or permanent roles if desired
  • Reduced Pressure: Focus on teaching without the full responsibilities of a permanent role

Who This Role Would Suit:

  • Qualified teachers seeking flexible or part-time work
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain experience across different settings
  • Experienced teachers returning to the profession
  • Teachers seeking a better work-life balance or reduced workload
  • Educators who enjoy variety and adapting to new environments
  • Individuals with strong classroom management and a proactive attitude

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in UK primary schools
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, reliable, and positive approach
  • Ability to travel reliably across Coventry and Rugby

What We Offer:

  • Flexible working to suit your availability (full-time or part-time)
  • Opportunities for short-term, long-term, and day-to-day placements
  • Competitive daily pay rates
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
  • Access to a wide network of local schools
