£14.25 per hour

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of busy and well-regarded nursery settings across the Birkenhead area and is seeking caring, energetic EYFS Practitioners to provide short-term and day-to-day cover. Whether you're looking for a few days a week, regular part-time work, or the flexibility to choose when you work, we'd love to hear from you.
This opportunity would suit experienced nursery practitioners who enjoy working with young children and thrive in a variety of early years environments.
The Opportunity
You'll be supporting established nursery teams during periods of staff absence, increased occupancy, and seasonal demand. Each placement offers the chance to build relationships with children, contribute to engaging learning experiences, and become part of welcoming early years settings that prioritise child development and wellbeing.
Many of the nurseries you'll support are known for their excellent reputation with families, purpose-built learning environments, outdoor play provision, and strong focus on nurturing children's confidence, independence, and social skills.
Applicants do not need to be based in Birkenhead, provided they can travel reliably to local nursery settings across the area. Options for morning, afternoon and full day shifts are available.

Your Day-to-Day Duties
- Supporting children from birth to five years old throughout the nursery day
- Encouraging learning through play and exploration
- Assisting with indoor and outdoor activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and social development
- Helping to maintain a safe, happy and stimulating environment
- Supporting meal, snack and routine times where required
- Always following safeguarding and welfare procedures
We're Looking For
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare is preferred
- Previous nursery, preschool or early years’ experience
- A warm, patient and proactive approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work across different settings when required
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to travel to nursery settings within the Birkenhead area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
