Job description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Female PE Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Rochdale from October 2026 on a one-year contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PE Teacher or an ECT looking to join a supportive school with a strong focus on pupil progress, participation and wellbeing.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students of all abilities to participate and develop their confidence and skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Motivate and engage students of all abilities
  • Contribute to the wider PE department and extracurricular activities
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations
  • Build strong relationships with students and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is currently completing their teacher training
  • Has experience teaching PE within a secondary school
  • Is passionate about sport and education
  • Can create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
