Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher with a passion for inspiring young people?
A vibrant and well-regarded secondary school in Darwen is seeking a Female PE Teacher to join their team from May 2026 on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.
The successful candidate will join a supportive department committed to delivering high-quality PE across KS3 and KS4. This role requires a female teacher due to essential timetable and safeguarding arrangements involving girls’ PE changing rooms and supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Plan, prepare and assess students’ work in line with curriculum requirements.
- Lead and support extracurricular sports activities and school teams.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork and personal development in all pupils.
- Uphold the school’s high standards of behaviour and safeguarding practices.
Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
- Strong communication, organisation and behaviour‑management skills.
- A proactive, positive and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
