Job description

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and nurturing Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their learning and development.

Working closely with the EYFS class teacher, you will help create a stimulating, safe and engaging environment where every child can thrive, learn and develop confidence.

Location: Nelson
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time  
Hours: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Start Date: Monday 2nd November or ASAP

About the Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support children in their learning through play-based activities and adult-led sessions.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Support children's social, emotional and physical development.
  • Observe and record children's progress and achievements.
  • Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom activities.
  • Support children with additional needs where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience of working with young children, ideally within an EYFS setting.
  • Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (desirable).
  • Has a good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Is patient, caring and enthusiastic.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
