Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children in their early years education? Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Barnsley.

We have a range of opportunities available, making this an excellent role for experienced Teaching Assistants, Early Years practitioners, or those looking to develop their career within education.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children with their learning and development through play-based activities.
  • Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups.
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy, numeracy and communication activities.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional and personal development.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Working closely with teachers and other school staff to support children's individual needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and developing children's confidence and independence.

What We're Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within an EYFS or primary setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, nurturing and positive approach.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with children and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, Level 2/3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not always essential, depending on your experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
