Qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant – Flexible Supply Roles
Location: Widnes and surrounding areas
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Flexible Supply / Temporary
Pay: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour (DOE)
Are you a passionate and qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work from September? We are seeking enthusiastic and nurturing individuals to work in a variety of primary schools and nursery settings across Widnes and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced EYFS practitioners who enjoy variety in their role while making a positive impact on young children's learning and development. Whether you're looking for a few days a week or full-time flexibility, we can offer opportunities to suit your availability.
The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support children within Nursery and Reception classes.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Promote children's learning through play-based opportunities.
- Support children's social, emotional and educational development.
- Work with small groups and on a one-to-one basis where required.
- Help to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Always follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A recognised Teaching Assistant or EYFS qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 minimum).
- Experience supporting children within an EYFS setting.
- A sound understanding of the EYFS Framework and early childhood development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting learning.
- The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Requirements:
- Direct train services from Widnes Station to Liverpool Lime Street, with journey times of approximately 20–25 minutes.
- Regular bus services operating between Widnes and Liverpool City Centre, with frequent departures throughout the day.
- Easy access to the M62 and M56 motorway networks, making commuting from Liverpool and surrounding areas straightforward.
- Well-connected via the Mersey Gateway Bridge, providing convenient road links across the region.
- Ideal for candidates travelling from Liverpool, Runcorn, St Helens, Warrington and surrounding Cheshire and Merseyside areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
