Nursery Teaching Assistant
Location: Ellesmere Port, CH65 / CH66
Contract: Day-to-day / Flexible supply
Start Date: ASAP
Role: Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Teaching Assistant
Salary: £14.25 to £15.00 per hour (DOE)
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a range of welcoming nurseries and early years settings across Ellesmere Port, who require reliable and caring support staff on a day-to-day basis.
These roles are ideal for passionate Early Years practitioners or SEN support staff who enjoy flexibility and variety, while making a real difference to young children during their crucial developmental years.
You may be supporting children 1:1 or in small groups, including those with additional needs, within nursery and pre-school environments.
The Role
As an Early Years / Nursery SEN Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide day-to-day support within nurseries and early years settings
- Support children aged 0–5, including those with SEN, ASD, speech & language, or emotional needs
- Work 1:1 or in small groups, depending on the setting’s daily requirements
- Promote learning through play, routine, and positive interactions
- Support children with personal care, transitions, and emotional regulation
- Follow EYFS frameworks while adapting activities to meet individual needs

Ideal Candidate
We would love to hear from candidates who:
- Have experience in nurseries or early years
- Are confident supporting young children
- Are patient, caring, and able to adapt quickly
- Understand the importance of routine, consistency, and positive reinforcement
- Enjoy flexible, day-to-day work across different settings
A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification is beneficial but not essential. Relevant experience will be considered.
