Experienced Year 3 Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Preston
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Pay: £120 - £150 per day (based on experience), increasing in line with AWR after 12 weeks

A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Preston is seeking an experienced, fully inducted Key Stage 2 Teacher to join their team from September 2025, covering a maternity leave in the Year 3 class.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join a supportive school environment where high standards and pupil development are a priority. The role will require full teaching responsibilities, including planning, assessment, and participation in school life.

Key Requirements:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Must have completed the statutory Induction Period
  • Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably in Year 3 or similar
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for helping children succeed and thrive

Pay & Agency Workers Regulations (AWR):

The daily pay rate for this role is £120 - £150, depending on experience.
After 12 weeks in the same role, your pay will be reviewed in line with Agency Workers Regulations (AWR), meaning you will receive pay and conditions equivalent to a permanent teacher employed directly by the school, including M1-M6 scale pay as appropriate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
