Job description

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH challenges

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities

  • Support pupils with their emotional regulation and social development

  • Implement and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets

  • Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
