Job description

We are currently recruitng for SEN teachers across Gloucster. 

Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time (5 days per week)
Salary: Paid to scale

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join our specialist provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is focused on teaching Key Stage 3/4 pupils working at a primary curriculum level, supporting them to re-engage with learning in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons following a primary-style curriculum tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs to develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviours
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and consistent learning environment
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning and emotional needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (desirable)
  • A flexible, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Passion for making a difference in a specialist setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
