Job description

Experienced English Tutor – 1:1 Support for LAC and Excluded Pupils
Start Date: September 2025

We are recruiting a dedicated English Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to pupils in alternative provisions, those at risk of exclusion, or who have been excluded. Many pupils have additional SEMH or SEND needs and require an adaptable, trauma-informed approach to learning.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned English tuition (KS2–KS4)
  • Plan sessions tailored to each student’s ability, interests, and learning goals
  • Adapt teaching to support pupils with complex emotional and behavioural profiles
  • Record clear session summaries on our secure, cloud-based reporting system
  • Independently manage diary and travel across locations

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience teaching/tutoring English within the UK curriculum
  • Strong background in supporting SEMH/SEND pupils (ADHD, autism, PTSD, behaviour)
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • QTS preferred, or a degree in English or related field with significant relevant experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
