Do you believe that the right teacher can completely change a young person's future?

Are you an inspiring English Teacher who thrives on building relationships, encouraging confidence and unlocking potential in pupils who have faced barriers to education?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a specialist education setting in Yeovil for a full-time English Teacher to teach Key Stages 3 and 4 from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator who wants to make a genuine difference in a setting where smaller class sizes, personalised learning and strong relationships are central to every school day.

The provision supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom require a creative, patient and consistent approach to learning.

As the successful candidate, you will deliver engaging English lessons that inspire a love of reading, writing and communication while adapting your teaching to meet a wide range of individual needs. Your ability to motivate pupils, build trust and create a positive classroom culture will be just as important as your subject knowledge.

This position would suit someone who can hit the ground running and confidently manage a Key Stage 3 and 4 timetable from day one. You'll be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing progress, contributing towards EHCP outcomes and working closely with Learning Support Assistants, families and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every learner. You'll also act as a tutor for a small group of pupils and play an active role in promoting a culture of Ready, Safe and Respect throughout the school.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Previous experience within SEND, SEMH or alternative provision is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • A resilient, reflective and solution-focused approach.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Why register with Teaching Personnel?

  • Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella company deductions.
  • A dedicated consultant supporting you throughout the recruitment process.
  • Access to exclusive education vacancies that aren't always advertised elsewhere.
  • Free and discounted CPD, including specialist SEND and behaviour management training.
  • Opportunities for long-term, temporary-to-permanent and permanent employment.
  • Ongoing guidance from an experienced education recruitment team that understands specialist schools.

If you're looking for a rewarding teaching role where you can have a lasting impact on young people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
