Contract: [Full-time / Part-time]

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and inspiring English Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Weymouth. We are looking for someone who is passionate about literature and language, and who can engage and motivate students to achieve their very best.

The role will involve teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to deliver Key Stage 5 lessons for candidates with relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons that spark student interest
  • Teach a varied curriculum, including both English Literature and Language
  • Track and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Foster strong literacy skills and a love of reading and writing
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Play an active role within the department and wider school community

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
  • Have experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Possess excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
  • Be dedicated to achieving strong student outcomes
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management skills
  • Be proactive, reliable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
