English Teacher – Sunderland Secondary School
Long-Term Supply, MPS/UPS £32,916 – £51,048, ASAP Start
Teaching Personnel is recruiting an English Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Sunderland, with a start date as soon as possible. The department is looking for a specialist who can deliver confident, well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4 and contribute meaningfully to an established team from day one.
Whether you're an experienced English Teacher looking for a new setting or an ECT who wants the consistency of a long-term placement to develop your practice, this is a role worth pursuing.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and delivering English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Supporting students to develop reading, writing, and communication skills
- Assessing progress and providing meaningful feedback
- Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and classroom management
- Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school events
- Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
To be considered:
- QTS or equivalent
- A degree in English, English Literature, or English Language
- Experience teaching English at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for literacy
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
