Job Title: English Teacher – Open to ECTs and Experienced Educators
Setting: Mainstream Secondary School

Rate of Pay: MPS/UPS (Paid to scale)

Key Responsibilities for the English Teacher in Southend:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in English Language and Literature

  • Teach Key Stage 3 and 4, with opportunities for KS5 depending on experience

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum development and literacy-focused initiatives

  • Participate in department and whole-school planning and events

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching standards
