Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to work in secondary schools across Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and foster a love of literature, language, and creative expression.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we welcome applications from enthusiastic educators committed to delivering high-quality English lessons.


The Role

  • Deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the national curriculum

  • Support students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills

  • Differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment

  • Monitor and track student progress effectively


The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Specialism in English Language and/or Literature

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
