We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced English teacher to join our team at a secondary school in Preston. The position is full-time and will begin in September. As an English teacher, you will have a passion for literature, language, and teaching. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating engaging and effective lessons to students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that are challenging, engaging, and meet the needs of all learners.

- Set and mark assignments, assessments, and exams, and provide constructive feedback to students.

- Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to support their learning.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.

- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues, sharing information about student progress, concerns, and achievements.

- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including participating in extra-curricular activities and school events.

Requirements:

- A degree in English or a related subject.

- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

- Experience teaching English to students aged 11-16.

- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

- A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

- A willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues.
