Job description

Are you an English teacher looking for a new permanent role?

We are currently recruiting for an English teacher to join our medium co-educational school based in Oldham OL2. We are an Ofsted rated ‘good’ secondary school, who are constantly oversubscribed and achieve excellent attainment 8 scores consistently. This is a great opportunity to join a thriving school, and to contribute to our high standards of education.

Our students are at the forefront of everything we do, and we are looking to appoint a dynamic English teacher to provide students with a first-class education. We are looking for someone who is energetic and can pass on their enthusiasm for the subject to their students. You will report directly to the HOD, to help plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons to KS3/4 pupils. You will be in charge of setting and marking homework, and to monitor students’ progression and highlight any areas for improvement.

Previous experience teaching up to GCSE level is highly desirable, however we welcome applications from ECT’s starting out in their career.

The ideal candidate

  • Hold QTS
  • Good grasp of the current English curriculum – preferably AQA.
  • Excellent behavioural management skills
  • Team player

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
