English Teacher – (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: September 2025
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic English teacher to join our vibrant department for a maternity cover role starting in September 2025. This position will initially be temporary but has the potential to become permanent, depending on the needs of the school.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
-
Promote a love of literature, reading, and writing in students
-
Support and guide students through their English education
-
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs
-
Provide pastoral support to students, encouraging personal growth and resilience
-
Contribute to departmental development and school-wide initiatives
Person Specification:
-
Qualified teacher status (QTS) required
-
Experience teaching English at secondary level is essential
-
Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
-
Ability to inspire students and create a positive, engaging learning environment
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
A passion for education and fostering a love of English

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
