Job Opportunity: English Teacher (Secondary)
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne and surrounding areas
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Salary: Paid to Scale
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking passionate and dedicated English Teachers to work in secondary schools across Newcastle Upon Tyne and the surrounding areas from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled educators looking for flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a real impact in different school settings. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, we are keen to hear from professionals who can inspire students and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role
- Deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners.
- Plan, prepare, and assess students' work in line with the national curriculum.
- Support pupils in achieving their target grades, including exam preparation where required.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of different school environments and learners.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that promotes student progress and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
- Is adaptable, professional, and confident working across a range of schools.
- Is committed to supporting young people and promoting a love of learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
