English Teacher (Full-Time) - Temp to Permanent

Location: Liverpool
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Start Date: 2nd November 2026 (following October half term)
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Liverpool that is seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join their successful department on a full-time basis from 2nd November 2026.

The Role:

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring English Language and English Literature lessons across KS3, KS4 & KS5.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
  • Track and monitor student progress, implementing effective intervention strategies where required.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and achievement.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes in both coursework and examinations.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers.

The Ideal Candidate:

To be considered for this role, applicants should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education.
  • Be committed to raising attainment and supporting student progress.
  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Be an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous professional development.
