Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting English Teachers to work in secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas.

We have a range of opportunities available, including daily supply, long-term cover and permanent positions.

We're looking for teachers who can deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4, support students to achieve their potential and contribute positively to school life.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Marking work and providing feedback to students
  • Monitoring progress and supporting attainment
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Preparing students for examinations and assessments
  • Attending meetings, parents' evenings and school events where required

Requirements:

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Good subject knowledge and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
