Job Title: English Teacher (Secondary School)
Location: Guildford, Surrey
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Guildford. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), fostering a love of literature, language, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Contribute to the development of the English department

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and parents’ evenings

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Degree in English or a related subject

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
