Job description
A highly supportive specialist provision in the Glastonbury area is seeking a passionate English Teacher with QTS to join their committed team. This setting provides education for young people aged 14 to 16 who benefit from a more personalised and nurturing approach to learning.This well-regarded alternative provision focuses on helping students re-engage with education and build confidence in their abilities. Pupils may have experienced trauma, social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and may have previously been excluded from mainstream school. The school prides itself on its supportive staff culture, strong pastoral care and commitment to positive outcomes for every student.
Role Overview

Working hours 8.45am to 3.30pm

Delivering engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual needs

Supporting students to rebuild confidence in literacy and communication

Working closely with support staff to create a safe and structured learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
-
Experience teaching English at secondary level
-
Understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practice or behaviour support
-
Patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education
-
Strong ability to build positive relationships with students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
