English Teacher – Secondary Schools
Location: South West London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract: Full‑time
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate, confident, and experienced English Teacher to work across secondary schools in the South West London area. This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who is committed to delivering high‑quality teaching and inspiring students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3/KS4).
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons that support students of varying abilities, promote literacy development, and encourage a love for language and literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach KS3 and KS4 classes, adapting lessons to suit mixed‑ability groups
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons effectively to support student progress
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Support students with literacy development, reading, writing, and comprehension
- Manage classroom behaviour confidently in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with department staff and senior leadership teams
- Provide constructive feedback and support student achievement
Essential Requirements
✅ UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – mandatory
✅ Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
✅ Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature
✅ Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire secondary‑aged students
✅ Confident classroom management and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
