Are you a passionate and inspiring English Teacher looking for your next full-time role? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school in Thornton (FY5) seeking a dedicated English specialist to join their team from Monday 13th April 2026.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a commitment to supporting pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations with confidence and clarity
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Work collaboratively with the English department to maintain high standards
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to start full-time from 13th April 2026

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
