Job Title: SEN Support Assistant / Educational Healthcare Assistant
Location: Across East Lancashire
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary / Day-to-Day Supply
Overview:
We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistants / Educational Healthcare Assistants to work on a day-to-day basis across schools in East Lancashire. This is a flexible role supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including complex and medical needs.
This position is ideal for individuals with a background in care, support work, or healthcare who are looking to transition into or continue working within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assisting with personal care where required (feeding, toileting, mobility)
- Supporting students with medical or physical needs throughout the school day
- Helping pupils access learning in the classroom and engage with activities
- Promoting independence, wellbeing and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
Requirements:
- Experience in care, healthcare, SEN support or a similar role
- Comfortable supporting personal care and medical needs
- Patient, empathetic and nurturing approach
- Flexible and adaptable to different school environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Availability:
Immediate start available. Candidates should be open to flexible, short-notice assignments across East Lancashire.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
