Job description

Educational Health Care Assistant - SEN School

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in the Darwen area to recruit an Educational Health Care Assistant on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a full-time role for someone with experience supporting children and young people with special educational needs, combining health care support with teaching assistant duties in the classroom.

Role details:
Position: Educational Health Care Assistant (with TA duties)
Type: Temp to Perm
Hours: Full time, 8:20am – 3.00pm, Monday to Friday
Start: ASAP / flexible

Key responsibilities:

- Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, SEMH, and complex needs
- Providing personal care and health-related support where required
- Supporting learning on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Promoting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, independence, and engagement

Requirements:

- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Confidence supporting health care or personal care needs
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Relevant care or education qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
