Early Years Teaching Assistant – Newport (NP20 Area)
Location: Newport and surrounding NP20 areas
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Weekly pay (competitive rates)
Teaching Personnel are working with a range of Early Years settings and primary schools in the NP20 area, seeking confident, proactive and reliable Early Years Teaching Assistants.
This role suits individuals with Nursery, Reception, or private nursery experience who are passionate about supporting early development and bringing energy into the classroom.
About the Role
- Support children in Nursery and Reception
- Assist with play-based learning and EYFS activities
- Promote social, emotional and communication development
- Work 1:1 and with small groups, including ALN/SEN pupils
- Support routines (snack time, toileting, transitions)
- Assist with outdoor learning and free-flow play
- Help create a safe, engaging environment
- Work closely with staff and parents
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Early Years or nursery experience
- Understanding of EYFS and child development
- Ability to support communication and early literacy
- Confidence supporting ALN/SEN
- Knowledge of safeguarding and hygiene standards
- Experience with personal care
- Strong teamwork and communication
- Proactive, hands-on approach
Desirable:
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ or childcare qualification
- Speech and language support experience
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle

- Calm, confident and able to lead activities
- Reliable, organised and adaptable
- Holds (or willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
