Nursery Teaching Assistant – Darlington
Recruiting on behalf of Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking a Nursery Teaching Assistant to support an Early Years setting within a welcoming primary school in Darlington. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

 

About the Opportunity

Through Teaching Personnel, you will be placed in a supportive primary school with a strong Early Years team. The school values positive relationships, inclusive learning, and providing children with a safe space to develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery classroom and helping young learners develop confidence, curiosity, and independence.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children during play-based learning and structured activities
• Assisting the class teacher and Early Years staff with daily routines
• Helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating nursery environment
• Encouraging communication, creativity, and social development
• Supporting children with their early learning and personal development
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Assisting with observations and learning records where required

 

What We’re Looking For

Teaching Personnel is looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young children and creating positive early learning experiences.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous experience working with children in an Early Years or childcare setting
• A patient, caring, and supportive approach
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A relevant Early Years or childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
