Post Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant

Contract: Permanent
Pay: 92.63

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only (39 weeks)
8:30am – 3:30pm (with 30-minute lunch break)

Start Date: 1st September 2026

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work as a Teaching Assistant within an Early Years setting across an inclusive, welcoming primary school located in the Canton area of Cardiff, approximately one mile from the city centre.

The school is a happy, vibrant, and culturally diverse inner-city setting with a two-form entry, large nursery, and wrap-around care provision.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils in class under the supervision and direction of the class teacher
  • Working with ALN pupils on specific targets within their Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Providing general classroom support, including preparation and routine maintenance of resources and equipment

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
