We are a friendly, forward-thinking primary school located in the heart of Bournemouth, and we are looking for a passionate and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to help give them the very best start in their education journey. You’ll be part of a supportive team where creativity, care, and curiosity are at the centre of everything we do.

About the Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children aged 3–5 as they learn, grow, and develop through play-based activities. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting fun, interactive learning activities linked to the EYFS framework
  • Helping children develop early reading, writing, and number skills
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Supporting children’s social and emotional development
  • Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
  • Observing and celebrating children’s progress and achievements

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with young children
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and full of creative ideas
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Caring and committed to helping every child succeed
  • Ideally qualified with a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or willing to work towards one)
  • Aware of safeguarding responsibilities (training will be provided if needed)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
