  1. Early Years SEN Support
  2. Cardiff
Date posted : 20/02/26
  1. Full Time
£89.38 - 100.00 per day

Job description

Are you an experienced or qualified Early Years Practitioner looking for a full time role to start ASAP and be guaranteed until the end of the school year in Cardiff?

If so then we want to hear from you!

I am currently working with a gorgeous primary school situated in Fairwater Cardiff, who are in need of additional support in their Early Years Foundation Stage setting. You will predominantly be working full time with the Nursery / Reception class as a general Teaching Assistant and you must have experience in working in Early Years, or have a qualification in it. As 28% of the schools pupils have been statemented with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), experience in working with ALN would be hugely favoured too. The school values Teaching Assistants who are proactive, hands-on, and eager to engage fully in classroom life and school activities, but who are also caring, empathetic and able to engage well with younger learners who may need deescalating, diverting, or distracting from some situations when they become overwhelmed. Not someone who will just stand and shout! Creativeness is key in this setting so they say! You may also be required from time to time to cover yard duty, which would be all year groups across Key Stage 1 and 2 within the school.

Rated GOOD when last inspected by Estyn in 2018, this is a school where staff feel valued, pupils are polite and eager to learn, and the leadership team rated second to none. Supportive, welcoming, and forward-thinking — what more could you ask for from your next school?

If you have at least 3+ months’ experience working with children or have a Nursery Nurse / TA qualification and are ready to start a full-time role right now (Mon–Fri, 8:30–15:30), then please do get in touch!

Click APPLY NOW to send your up-to-date CV. Successful applicants will receive a call from Emma Thomas to discuss next steps and begin the quick registration process (usually completed within a week, DBS and EWC dependent).

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
