DT / Art Teacher

Location: Secondary School, Lancaster
Contract: Part-time (4 days per week)
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are seeking a creative, motivated, and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology and Art to join a supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school in Lancaster. This is a part-time position (4 days per week), available immediately, and would suit either an experienced teacher or an ECT with strong subject knowledge and a passion for creativity.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Design Technology and Art across KS3 and potentially KS4
  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive lessons
  • Inspire pupils to develop creativity, technical skills, and confidence
  • Assess and support pupil progress in line with school policies
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and department

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching DT and/or Art at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management and high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
