Drama Teacher
Location: Gateshead
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible (Full-time & Part-time opportunities available)
Pay: £130–£251 per day (paid to scale, dependent on experience)
Are you a passionate Drama Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of performers? Teaching Personnel is working with a number of welcoming secondary schools across Gateshead and the surrounding areas who are seeking enthusiastic Drama Teachers to join their teams from September 2026.

The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative Drama lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express themselves.
- Inspire students through practical and theoretical aspects of Drama.
- Assess, monitor and support student progress.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular productions where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
- Has experience teaching Drama within a secondary school setting.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Has strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Is passionate about helping young people achieve their potential.
- Can build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
