Location: Newport, South Wales
Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year
⭐We are looking for a DT Teacher to join us ASAP!⭐
A well-regarded secondary school in the Newport area is seeking a passionate and committed Design Technology (DT) Teacher, with experience in Textiles, to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire learners across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching if desired.
You will be delivering engaging and creative DT lessons, including Textiles, encouraging students to develop practical skills, creativity, problem‑solving abilities, and an understanding of design processes and materials. The school offers a supportive environment with strong leadership, a collaborative department, and access to ongoing professional development.
Whether you are a Newly Qualified DT Teacher (ECT/NQT) or an experienced DT teacher, your enthusiasm, subject knowledge, and practical expertise will be highly valued.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are completing their induction
- Have proven experience teaching Design Technology, including Textiles, at KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Can create an inclusive, safe, and positive practical learning environment
- Possess strong classroom management and clear communication skills
- Can monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
✅Requirements
Teaching Personnel can support you in obtaining:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- At least two professional teaching references covering a 24 month period

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
