Teaching Personnel are seeking passionate and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teachers to work across secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. We have a range of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term placements and long-term positions.

The Role

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will inspire students to develop their creativity, practical skills and technical knowledge. You may be teaching across areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, Food Technology or Construction, depending on your experience and the requirements of our partner schools.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Preparing students for GCSE and vocational qualifications where required.
  • Developing students' practical, creative and technical skills.
  • Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Managing practical classroom and workshop environments effectively.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress.
  • Creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for DT Teachers who:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting.
  • Have strong subject knowledge across one or more areas of DT.
  • Are confident teaching across KS3 and/or KS4.
  • Have excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Can confidently manage practical lessons and workshop environments.
  • Are passionate about developing students' creativity and practical skills.
  • Can adapt quickly to different school environments.
  • Are reliable, enthusiastic and professional.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
