Design & Technology Teacher

Exeter Area

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with secondary schools in theExeter Area to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher to support their growing departments.

This opportunity is suitable for ECTs and experienced DT teachers with roles ranging from long-term placements to potential permanent opportunities depending on the school.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)

  • Teach across specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics or Food Technology (depending on your expertise)

  • Plan and assess work in line with the national curriculum

  • Ensure safe working practices within workshop and practical environments

  • Inspire creativity, problem-solving, and technical skill development

  • Supportive leadership teams and collaborative Technology departments

  • Well-equipped workshops and specialist facilities

  • Clear behaviour policies and strong safeguarding procedures

  • Located in and around the Exeter area

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified DT Teacher (QTS/QTLS) or ECT

  • Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology

  • Confident managing practical lessons and workshop safety

  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities

  • Professional, adaptable, and proactive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
