Teaching Personnel is working with secondary schools across Darlington to recruit talented DT Teachers for a range of flexible teaching opportunities starting in September 2026. The Role

You will deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to think creatively, develop technical skills, and build confidence through hands-on learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons that inspire and challenge students
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports progress and engagement
  • Encouraging creativity, resilience, and independent thinking
  • Supporting students in developing practical and problem-solving skills
  • Maintaining strong classroom management and high behavioural expectations
  • Contributing positively to the wider school community

We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and energy into the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
