Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Fixed Term – 2 Terms (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £49,781 - £51,773 (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Deputy Head Teacher to join our leadership team from September 2026 on a fixed-term basis (two terms) to cover a maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated leader to play a key role in driving school improvement, supporting staff development, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across the school.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Teacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school
  • Lead on key areas of school improvement, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and attainment, ensuring strong outcomes for all pupils
  • Support, mentor, and develop teaching and support staff
  • Promote and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school
  • Contribute to safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral care across the school

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience at Senior Leadership Team (SLT) level
  • A strong track record of improving teaching and learning
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • A clear commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all pupils
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and work collaboratively with staff, pupils, parents, and governors
  • A commitment to supporting and developing the Catholic ethos of the school (practising Catholic preferred, in line with diocesan expectations)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
